We celebrated our good friend Don’s birthday Wednesday evening at the Bronze Boot Supper Club. Don, who is living in the Larimore nursing home was able to get a ride into Grand Forks in a van that could handle his wheel chair. I drove Olga to the restaurant, to find Don and his driver already waiting for us. His friends Ron and Joyce arrived soon after we did, while his daughter Donna Lee, and my Sue and Carl arrived after they finished with work and football practice. We had a wonderful evening enjoying time with Don and all of the other guests. Don was introduced to Maxie outside of the Bronze Boot. Sue and Carl went home to get her before Don needed to return to Larimore. Don loves dogs, and Maxie seemed to hold him with equal regard!
wow, Don looks older than I remember. He’s in a NH, and his wife is the one that con’t see. Does she do okay at home alone?
Olga is still amazing! Their daughter, Donna Lee, has moved in with her, though. Donna Lee is pretty amazing herself! I think Olga’s life would have changed quite a bit if not for her daughter’s loving contributions.
